Amelia purchased her first Siberian, Tsar, in 2010 and trained him to run in front of a bike or skis along the shores of Lake Superior. She started mushing in March 2013 after spending most of her time skijoring or handling. It didn't take long to find that running more dogs and using a sled is a lot less challenging and a lot less work than skiing, and so Amelia bought two new adult dogs and a puppy in winter 2012/2013 and then another later in 2013, increasing her number from two to six in just one year. Many of the new dogs were from established and respected sprint racing kennels which is where we have learned the most and made many invaluable friends and mentors. Taking the dogs and pedigrees that have worked best for us and breeding healthy Siberians has been an absolute joy. Amelia loves racing both sprint and mid, training alone and with friends, and giving rides with her wonderful team of sled dogs.
